Hello and welcome to our class!

Our teachers are Mrs West (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Cufley (Thursday and Friday).

Our learning is cross curricular and is linked to our termly topic.

Our topic for the Spring Term is...

During the term we will be finding out about animals in our world.  We will look at different pets, birds, zoo animals, bears and minibeasts.   We will use stories such as 'The Gruffalo', 'Paddington Bear'and 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' to support our learning.  Our role play area will be a forest, where we will use our imagination to retell some of the stories we have read!  During the term we will look at the celebrations of Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, Pancake Day and Easter.

We have a designated Outdoor Learning session every Tuesday morning with one of our school governors Mrs Randall.

We had a 'beary' busy and exciting time last academic year!! We learnt about different types of bears, where they come from and what they like to eat.  We looked closely at famous bears like Paddington Bear and in our role play we retold the traditional story of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We had lots of fun making porridge, marmalade sandwiches, bear toast and bear biscuits! The best bit was when we got to eat everything!!

We have a 'buddy' friend in Year 6.  Our buddies help us settle into school when we first start.  They play with us at playtimes/dinnertimes and sit with us in assemblies.  It is really nice having an older friend (buddy) in school to help and support us.
