Great Alne Primary School

Safeguarding

At Great Alne, we safeguard and promote the welfare of children and all adults. We expect all staff, parents and volunteers to share this commitment.

If you are concerned for the welfare of any child, adult or family in the school community, please arrange to talk to Mr Penn at the earliest opportunity or email Penn.m1@welearn365.com

if you believe a child is in  immediate danger, you should call the police on 999.

Great Alne Primary School is fully committed to safeguarding pupils within its care. We recognise our moral and statutory responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of all pupils and adults.

Before anything else, we expect a code of conduct from everyone on the school site that assures everyone of safety, free from discrimination, derision or fear.

We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice. All staff are trained and annual training updates keep adults informed of any safeguarding and Prevent updates and current initiatives. Our policies follow National and Local Authority guidelines. All staff, including volunteers, are rigorously checked before starting at Great Alne Primary School, having clear safeguarding procedures both on site and for activities off the school site.

There are three Designated Safeguarding Leaders in school - Mr Penn, Mrs Dunbar and Mrs Hancock - and all staff receive ongoing safeguarding development through school in-service training. Headteacher Mr Penn and the Chair of Governors are trained in safer recruitment procedures.

Thank you for helping us to provide a safe and welcoming environment where everyone is respected and valued.
