Great Alne Primary School

 Great Alne Primary School

Great Alne School is located on the edge of the village, seven miles from Stratford upon Avon and within walking distance to the town of Alcester.  The majority of pupils live in Great Alne, Alcester and the surrounding villages.

 The School’s Origins

The school was founded by Richard Seymour in 1836 and was originally housed in Great Alne Church, the room now used as the vestry. The new school was built, on its current site, in 1965.

Great Alne School Today

Great Alne Primary is a small village school with around 100 pupils. There are three classrooms plus a library, music room, hall, office area, outdoor teaching area, vegetable garden, playground, (inc trim-trail and giant climbing frame) and playing fields.

Being a small, rural school, we boast close links with local community groups, such as the Round Table, Women’s Institute, Parish Church, Parish Council, and Great Alne Park Retirement Village.

Our school day starts at 8:45am and finished at 3:15pm.
