Your Governing Body

The Governing body is currently made up of nine people (including the Head Teacher of Great Alne Primary, and the Clerk to Governors). We meet on a monthly basis during term time.   Each meeting  focuses on different aspects of the school and reports back to the whole governing body at each main meeting. The Committees include: Finance, Premises and Health and Safety, Curriculum, Pay Committee and Governor Training. We also have a designated governor responsible for Safeguarding and Attendance as well as SEN.

The Governors all regularly attend training courses to ensure we are fulfilling all our responsibilities. The courses also mean we are constantly up to date with the government’s education policies.
It is a requirement that any Governing Body has representatives not only from within school, but also the local community and we are no exception.

Mrs Rossiter, our Head Teacher also serves as a Governor..  She brings a great deal of experience to us, as she was a parent governor at her daughters' primary school  and was also an LA appointed governor for a school in Coventry.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that if there is anything you need to discuss with the governors please feel free to do so through the school office. Alternatively, you could speak to any of the governors who are available at school, as many of us are there every day. If you would like a governor to contact you, please leave your contact details at the office or with a governor and we will be more than happy to make contact with you.
