Your Governing Body
The Governing body is currently made up of ten people. We meet as a whole every half term and as well as this each member also serves on at least one committee. Each committee focuses on different aspects of the school and reports back to the whole governing body at each main meeting. The Committees include: Finance, Premises and Health and Safety, Curriculum, Website and Marketing, Pay Committee and Governor Training. We also have a designated governor responsible for Safeguarding.
The Governors all regularly attend training courses to ensure we are fulfilling all our responsibilities. The courses also mean we are constantly up to date with the government’s education policies. It is a requirement that any Governing Body has representatives not only from within school, but also the local community and we are no exception. Mrs Hendrie also serves as a Governor. It is not a requirement that the head of a school is a governor, but this is a role Mrs Hendrie has always chosen to undertake during her thirteen years at Great Alne. She also serves on all the committees.
We would also like to take this opportunity to remind you that if there is anything you need to discuss with the governors please feel free to do so through the school office. Alternatively, you could speak to any of the governors who are available at school, as many of us are there every day. If you would like a governor to contact you, please leave your contact details at the office or with a governor and we will be more than happy to make contact with you. |

All three of my children have become keen learners and their confidence has grown in the nurturing environment at Great Alne Primary School. I’d happily recommend the school.
