​​​​​​​PE and Sport Funding

The PE and Sport Allocation is funding provided to schools in addition to main school funding. This funding is ring-fenced and therefore can only be spent on the provision of PE and sport in schools.

The Gover​nment  provided additional funding for academic years 2013 to 2016 to improve provision of physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools.  This money has continued to be provided in 2019-20 when the funding was £16,900. 

It is for schools to decide how the PE and Sport funding is spent. Schools are held accountable for how they have used the additional funding.
In our school we have used the money in a variety of areas:
Spending
Impact
​Hiring specialist qualified sports coaches to work with all children on PE lessons designed to improve skills and give childen a wide range of experiences. This is provided all year round on a weekly basis.


​Professional development for class teachers who observe and participate in lessons and buld up their skills and knowledge.
Increase in the range of skills development access to a wider variety of sports for the pupils.
​Releasing PE coordinator to accompany children at inter school competitions.


Increased participation at sporting events. Children have been able to participate in an increased number of local competitions and events. 
​Purchase of specialist equipment and teaching resources.

​Increased opportunities for children to participate in a non traditonal activity or new sport.
​Targeting groups of pupils to help improve their physical development. (COMP programme) 


Improved gross motor and fine motor skills. Children requiring additional programmes to develop fine and gross motor skills have been able to participate in regular sessions where necessary.  
​Providing after school sports clubs for Foundation Stage to KS2. 

Provision of after school sports all year round. These include multi skills, tag rugby and cricket.
Supporting children with emotional needs. The provision of an addtional positive role model for individuals who are particularly motivated by sports.
Positive relationships developed encouraging the development of teamwork and the importance of rules.
