Summer Term 2021
Our topic: 'Shakespeare's Stratford'
English: Most of our English work this term will be based on our topic, including reading some of Shakespeare's work - our fiction writing will be based on the story of The Tempest. The pupils will also be researching the life of Shakespeare for a biography and composing their own poetry. We will continue to use the 'Talk for Writing' process this term to help pupils develop their writing skills in a range of fiction and non-fiction text types.
Maths: Number work will focus on: developing efficient arithmetic skills; improving accurate recall of number facts; fractions, decimals & percentages. Reasoning & problem solving using number, shape, space and measures will be ongoing this term.
Science: Living things and their habitats - life cycles; Animals including humans- stages in growth and development.
History: A local history study, including investigating Shakespeare's Stratford.
Geography: Local study: using fieldwork to observe, measure, record and present the human and physical features in the local area.
Computing: Use logical reasoning to explain how some simple algorithms work and to detect & correct errors in algorithms.
RE: What does it mean to be a Muslim in Britain today?
PSHE: First Aid skills; 'Being my Best'.
French: Revise talking about ourselves and our family.
Music: Listening and composing; exploring music processes.
