Great Alne Primary School
Head of School's Welcome
Welcome to Great Alne Primary School!
We are a small rural school with a wonderful family feel, where every child is known and valued. Nestled in beautiful countryside, our school is calm, nurturing and full of opportunities to learn and grow. We are proud to have fantastic resources for our children to enjoy, including a music room, well-stocked library and our much-loved forest school area.
A love of books is at the heart of everything we do here. Reading is my personal passion; stories are woven through all aspects of school life at Great Alne. From sharing books together during Read Aloud to exploring rich texts across the curriculum, we believe that reading inspires curiosity, imagination and lifelong learning. Alongside this, we offer a carefully planned creative curriculum enriched with trips, visits and experiences which bring learning to life. We also ensure that our children have opportunities that help them to grow into responsible, caring citizens, well-prepared for the world beyond primary school. At the heart of this, our school values guide everything we do: being respectful, responsible and ready.
At Great Alne, children always come first. Safeguarding is paramount to everything we do. Our dedicated and friendly team create a supportive environment where pupils feel safe, happy and ready to thrive. We would love you to visit us and see for yourself what makes our school so special—I’d be delighted to show you around and introduce you to our wonderful staff and children, of course.
