Wider Opportunities - Personal Development
Curriculum Enrichment
Supplementing the core nuts and bolts of the curriculum is a commitment to develop enrichment opportunities wherever possible. This, after all, is key to developing a love of learning and has a significant impact on so many areas of school life. Enrichment opportunities allow children to reflect on their learning and develop their recall of knowledge through good old plain and simple FUN!
One of our core curriculum enrichment opportunities is our termly trip to the Heart of England Forest where we capitalise on areas of learning such as living things, map work and land use, bush craft/survival skills.
Further to this, we have just been awarded the Eco-Schools Green Flag, an internationally recognised award for excellence in environmental action and learning.
Pupil Memorable Experiences Pathway
Throughout the academic year, each class will take part in a 'Memorable Experience'...something that will leave them with lasting memories well beyond their time at Great Alne Primary School...
In addition, we have enjoyed the following trips and visitors over the last academic year and are building in further enrichment opportunities to enhance our new Great Alne Curriculum.
- Trip to All Things Wild
- Visit to a Sikh Gurdwara, Leamington
- Heart of England Forest School visits
- Trip to the RSC- The BFG
- Trip to see The Selfish Giant (Theatre show and puppetry)
- Christmas singing and cinema visit to Great Alne Park
We are proud of the work we have done and will continue to do to make learning at Great Alne Primary as vibrant as possible. If you have any questions about the curriculum, please email: admin2024@welearn365.com
